Piranhas

Scientific Name: Pygocentrus Nattereri | Geographical Distribution: South America
Emaar Akvaryum - Piranalar
Emaar Akvaryum - Piranalar

The Red Belly Piranha is known for its ferocity and aggression. They have very sharp triangular teeth and use their sensors to detect movement in the river.

Although there is a misconception that they attack humans, their main diet is fish, birds, rodents and small mammals, and they also feed on dead animals.

Piranhas are opportunistic predators. During the day, the little piranhas search for food, while the adults go out to hunt at night.
