Among reptiles, geckos stand out with their endearing appearance and colorful patterns.     Spotted Leopard Gecko<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

    The Spotted Leopard Gecko is one of the most well-known gecko species in Turkey. Its body is covered with black patterns resembling leopard spots, which is how it got its name. These patterns are quite prominent against its body in shades of yellow, cream and brown.<\/p>\n\n

    It is generally active at night. It does not have sticky pads on its feet, so it cannot climb glass surfaces, but it moves quite quickly on the ground. Its quietness makes it easy to observe. Its natural habitat is the arid regions of Asia; it likes warm, dry climates.<\/p>\n\n

    Ciliated Gecko<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

    The Ciliated Gecko is a species that stands out for its appearance. Just above its eyes there are eyelash-like skin protrusions, which is why it has been given the name “ciliated.” With its body color and texture, this creature looks almost like a piece of leaf.<\/p>\n\n

    Native to New Caledonia, this species lives in humid tropical regions. It is active at night. It can walk easily on glass surfaces and, thanks to its sticky foot pads, can even hang upside down. In its natural habitat, it is mostly found in forested areas.<\/p>\n\n

    The New Caledonian Giant Gecko is the largest living gecko (lizard) species in the world and is regarded as a striking example of “island gigantism.” Individuals from the Grande Terre region can reach 36-43 cm in length and weigh between 250 and 500 grams. These dimensions set it completely apart from smaller gecko species, giving it a truly impressive appearance.<\/p>\n\n

    As its name suggests, this species is native to the humid tropical forests of New Caledonia and is an arboreal (tree-dwelling) creature. It spends most of its time on tree trunks and branches. It is especially active at night, while during the day it rests hidden in tree hollows and secluded spots. Its rough skin in brown, greenish and gray tones provides flawless camouflage resembling tree bark, making it almost invisible in its natural habitat.<\/p>\n\n
