Cayman Lizard
Geographical Distribution: South America, especially around the Amazon River basin
The easiest way to distinguish a Caiman gecko is by its unique color scheme. These lizards have a bright green olive colored body and a red or orange colored head. Their thick tails are brownish to black and may have yellow stripes on them.
They enjoy swimming in water and climbing trees in pursuit of their favorite prey, snails.
Cayman lizards are protected by CITES. Cayman lizard, which was heavily hunted for its skin in the past, is not seen among the animals in danger of extinction today, as its exports have decreased significantly within the framework of the conservation laws implemented in the 1970s.
